She worked at different companies during her long life, some being: Woolworth's, IDRC, Townsend Income Tax in Duluth, GA. and most recently as "Miss Maggie Valley". She was fun loving and generous, happiest when surrounded by excitement and activity.

The family received visitors at the Miller's home on Saturday, Sept. 23. The memorial service to celebrate the life of "Miss Ellie" was held on Sunday, Sept. 24, 2017 at the Eternal Hills Funeral Home and Memory Gardens in Snellville, GA; attended by family and friends from Michigan, North Carolina, Georgia and Florida. The funeral service with Reverend Dr. James L. Morgan, Jr. officiating, was followed by a graveside service. Her ashes have been interred at the grave of her youngest son, Dan Steven McConnell.
