Blanche Lanford Vickery age 83 died Saturday May 13th surrounded by her family at the home of her daughter and Son in law Jo Anne and Kenny Cash in Powder Springs. She was born in Lilburn to Willie and Evie (Burns) Lanford and was the eldest of two children.

A Lifelong resident of Gwinnett County, Blanche was the Valedictorian of Lilburn High School's Class of 1950. Her future Father in Law was the principle, Rev O.L. Vickery, after which she attended business school. She was married to Gene Vickery in 1952 and was...

Blanche Lanford Vickery age 83 died Saturday May 13th surrounded by her family at the home of her daughter and Son in law Jo Anne and Kenny Cash in Powder Springs. She was born in Lilburn to Willie and Evie (Burns) Lanford and was the eldest of two children.

A Lifelong resident of Gwinnett County, Blanche was the Valedictorian of Lilburn High School's Class of 1950. Her future Father in Law was the principle, Rev O.L. Vickery, after which she attended business school. She was married to Gene Vickery in 1952 and was the mother of three children, Randy, Jo Anne and Grady. She was employed at Citizens and Southern National Bank and retired after 38 years as a personal banker. Blanche was a life long member of Harmony Grove United Methodist Church. As a proud member of one of the founding families she served as the Church Historian for the past thirty years.
She also was a devoted member of the choir she loved and served on the alter guild. Blanche will be remembered as a Loving Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Gene, her brother Bill and her son, Randy. She leaves behind her sister in law Peggy Brooks Lanford of Sylvania, Ga. her two living children and their spouses Jo Anne and Kenny Cash of Powder Springs and Grady and Lori Vickery of Dahlonega. Thirteen Grand Children and Sixteen Great Grand Children. She will be forever remembered as a warm bright shining light of love to her family
and the church family she so dedicated herself to.

Funeral Services will be held Friday, May 19th 2017 at 11:00 am at Eternal Hills Funeral Home, with Rev Jim Landis officiating the service, burial will follow in Eternal Hills Memory Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 pm Thursday, May 18th at the funeral home and again from 10:00 till the time of the service. Memorial gifts may be given in lieu of flowers in Blanche's name to Uplift Ministry at 3252 Barnwell Trace, Powder Springs, GA 30127.
